Camp Caroline Weekend

(At Dawson's Creek Near Oriental, NC) 

Date of Weekend:  1st weekend in August each year
Directions:  Hwy 70 to New Bern.  Once you are on the bridge, get into the lanes for Bayboro (Hwy 55).  Follow 55 to Grantsboro.  Turn right on Hwy 306 to Arapahoe.  Look for the sign on the left to Camp Caroline.
Newcomers:  All newcomers are invited to join the returning campers in a weekend of Christian fun and fellowship at Camp Caroline.
Items to Bring:  Bed linens, towels and washcloths, insect repellent, pillows, musical instruments, CD's, etc.  Fishing poles and bait, dessert and food (See agenda below.), snacks and drinks, bread for breakfast (tea and coffee are furnished for meals).
Minors:  All minors are required to be under adult supervision at all times.
Cost:  Contact Hank J. for costs.  Sign up sheets will be in the church vestibules several weeks before the scheduled weekend.
Cabin Sign-Up Sheets:  Sheets will be in the back vestibule of the church.  Usually cabin assignments are one side---8 females and one side---8 males or you may signup as a family.  When you sign up, please indicate the number of beds you desire in order for others to know where there are openings in cabins.
Camp Caroline Weekend Activities:  (changes may occur)
Friday:
Camp opens at 12 noon.
6-7 p.m.   Supper, bring your own hamburgers, hot dogs, etc.  Grill will be set up.  Tea furnished.
8 p.m.   Devotions
8:15 p.m.   Bingo with prizes and board games (bring your favorite)
Saturday:
7-8 a.m.   Breakfast, furnished (except bread for toast)
10 a.m.   Horseshoes, volleyball, swimming pool, kayaking, canoeing, fishing
12-1 p.m.  Bring your own picnic (tea furnished)
2 p.m.   Volleyball, horseshoes, swimming pool, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking
6 p.m.   Worship
7 p.m.   Supper furnished
8 p.m.   Games and free time
Sunday:
7:30-8:30 a.m.   Breakfast furnished (except bread for toast)
9 a.m.   Sunday School
11 a.m.   Church at Silver Hill Church---optional (Amos Sykes)
12:30 p.m.   Lunch (Leftovers)
Cleanup:  All cabins are to be swept, cleaned out and trash taken off.  All sailboats, canoes, etc. need to be put away securely in the boat house.
8 p.m.   Camp Caroline closes.
Note:  Cleanup after all meals and events is essential.   Thanks.
